The Telegraph Ridge Fire Department (TRFD) is responsible for the emergency response operations for the Fire Protection District. TRFD provides structure fire, wildland fire, and vehicle fire suppression, emergency medical response and other public assistance services and 911 emergency calls. An all volunteer crew responds from the Ettersburg Fire Station where the fire apparatus is quartered. On top of being volunteer firefighters, the TRFD crew is also part of local workforce development projects including Cal OES Taskforce assignments, fire safe council fire preparedness programs, prescribed fire services, and fuel reduction sawyer crews. Two members of TRFD are on the Southern Humboldt County Technical Rescue Team. TRFD is committed to providing the best emergency response possible to the Ettersburg community, while continuing to train and improve, and also being a positive contributor to the regional Southern Humboldt Fire Services.
